Announcement: New Training Schedule

We have made an adjustment to the training schedule to seperate the COCC class and beginner class. This change will ensure that both classes will get the correct instruction and proper student to teacher ratios. It was a little late to change the COCC fall term schedule so we will work around it in the mean time by moving the regular beginner class temporarily for the Fall only (see below). Eventually by Winter, we will return to a progressive class schedule that will provide continuous training times for those whom attend more than one class.

The NEW training schedule will be as follows:

Fall Term 2010 – Starting September 21st - December 7th Tuesday & Thursday Classes

• 5-6 pm Regular Beginner Class
• 6-7 pm COCC Beginner /White Belt Class
• 7-8:30pm Intermediate/Advanced class as usual

Winter Term 2011 – Tuesday & Thursday Classes (This will hopefully be the final schedule)

• 4:45 pm-6 pm COCC Beginner /White Belt Class (Starting January 4^th)
• 6-7 pm Regular Beginner Class (Starting December 9^th)
• 7-8:30 pm Intermediate/Advanced class as usual

Special Thanks to Sensei Cheah

Special thanks to Sensei Cheah for instructing at the JKA NW Summer Camp! We had 3 days of top level instruction focusing on soft/hard (ying/yang) and significance of training both. The two katas were heian godan and kanku dai with this emphasis along with some application meaning. Sensei Cheah's technical approach, incorporation of budo, and humble attitude are something we all strive for.

Many of the Bend Karate Club students were able to attend and bring away different understandings based on their training levels. We did have the honor of having Sensei Cheah another day up at the Bend Karate Club Monday for continued training which we are extremely thankful for.

We will have pictures soon of the seminar and BKC dojo training with Sensei Cheah! Also special thanks to Gil Hartl,Debbie Gillaspie, and everyone else involved for making the camp run so smoothly!

Now its time to get back to training and incorporating what we have learned last weekend. OSU!

We have a newly resurfaced dojo floor!

Special thanks to Tim and Mario for their hardwork on resurfacing our dojo floor. Our custom dojo floor was specially designed for karate training and periodically needs to be resurfaced due to the usual wear. Now its nice and shiny again, sooooo.....

Kyu exams results

Great job to all the belt testers!! All of your hard work and training has paid off. Keep up the training! Sensei will return from the nationals next week so we will most likely be doing the new belts at that time.
