Does the dojo compete in tournaments?
Answer:
Bend Karate Club members are encouraged to compete in tournaments though it is not a requirement. Annually the AAKF(American Amateur Karate Federation) Northwest Region dojos have a tournament open to all belt levels. Various events include kata and kumite. It is a great time to learn and practice competition based skills in a positive environment. The AAKF also has a national tournament annually that members participate in.
